Because if we spend even ten minutes on ourselves all hell breaks loose. I mean, really, look at this picture. Was it necessary to flip the activity table and Mickey Mouse chair? Even Buzz Buzz, the pillow pet, was carelessly tossed onto the heap of toys, books and games.
Next time you see a mother of a young child looking rather ragged and tired, remember that this is what she deals with about 15 times a day. This picture makes me terrified to have another child, and makes me think the people who space their children out by at least five years are incredibly smart.
My son can be the sweetest most cuddly thing you have ever seen, and other times he can cause more destruction than bomb. As my husband likes to put it when he is acting out "Danny, we do not negotiate with terrorists in this house." Gotta love the ever present military lingo.
